you always want to create work that inspires. but you often don’t know who, if anyone at all, is actually inspired by what you do. olivia e-mailed me a while back to share a print she had done, based on one of my photographs, that won 3rd place in her student showcase. and just recently, haley, a freshman in high school, e-mailed to share her chalk pastel drawing based on another one of my photos. “i really wanted to send it to you, but the colours would smear in the mail, they started to already because i had carried it home in a folder. and my mom wanted to keep it. anyway, i wanted you to see it.” thank you so much — both of you — for sharing. and for creating your own beautiful pieces of art. mw
