carmel-by-the-sea is one of the more beautiful places on earth. and if you haven’t driven along 17-mile drive, through the trees and along the coast, past pebble beach and the lone cypress… you’re missing out. it’s worth doing at least once. lorena and george had their wedding at an amazing house where it literally felt like you were on top of the world. the house sits a couple of miles up a windy road, high above carmel, where you find yourself looking down on the monterey peninsula, with views all the way to santa cruz. the ceremony couldn’t have been more picturesque. lorena and george were wonderful and we were able to take some really nice portraits after the ceremony down by the water. it was a beautiful day and an even more beautiful wedding… mw
maggie and michael got married at the adamson house in malibu. they couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful location. the house is literally steps from the ocean, and everywhere you look there are trees and flowers. all throughout the day (and night), there were sounds of laughter, kids rolling down hills and climbing trees, adults telling stories… it was all perfectly lovely. here are a few selects from the day… mw

May 13, 2009 - 10:11 amEmbrace Life - Oh wow! I love that. There are so many beautiful days when I'm working at my desk for endless hours I get really bummed that I missed the outdoors. This would help a bit. Even better would be one of those room that's open to the outside like some of the buildings in Hawaii.
gwen and matt couldn’t have chosen a cooler venue. the marvimon house is in downtown los angeles and from the outside it doesn’t look like anything special. in fact, it doesn’t look like much at all, just a wall and a garage door. upon entering, however, you are literally transported into a magical space, a hidden gem. it’s a venue that’s both hip and cool, vintage and eco-chic. is that even a word? gwen and matt’s style and aesthetic fit the marvimon perfectly. we had a great time and they made us feel like we were a part of the celebration. you can’t ask for anything more than that. here’s a little peek at some images from their wedding… mw

May 11, 2009 - 9:33 amChristine - ok you are definitely emerging as one of my favorite photogs. i love your milky soft style. it is very refreshing when most folks are going for the highly saturated look while you are veering towards vintage. very cool.

May 8, 2009 - 4:13 amRo - that hummingbird shot is RIDICULOUS!!! wow, nice job.
matthew, tricia and henry drove down from sacramento for a little family photo session a few weeks ago. we spent the afternoon at the getty center, walking around, taking pictures and enjoying the amazing scenery. the weather forecast was for a bit of rain, but the sun ended up coming out and the day was lovely. the marsom’s were a joy to spend time with — it’s really what makes this job so fulfilling — the people you meet and the friends you make. mw
beachwood canyon is one of those tucked away spots in los angeles where i’ve always wanted to do a little shoot. there’s a somewhat hidden trail that leads up to an area where you have a pretty incredible view of the hollywood sign. and, if you’re ok with narrow and windy roads through the canyon, you are 5 minutes away from a beautiful dog park that’s literally right underneath the sign. both places proved to be perfect spots to shoot melissa and matt. a relaxing, sun-filled sunday afternoon… new friends… a genuinely good time had by all. mw

April 27, 2009 - 10:36 amJennifer - I agree -- it IS adorable, but you're not supposed to have them as pets because they are a threatened species and don't tend to do well in captivity.
