one of the wonderful things about working in this business is the people you meet and get to collaborate with. lynn russell is one of those people i had the good fortune of getting to know. lynn runs a wonderful letterpress company called satsuma press. her work is absolutely beautiful and i was lucky enough to photograph her new wedding line as part of an exchange (details of which i’ll share later). i don’t normally do product shots, but i had fun doing something different. you won’t find too many people as passionate as lynn and i think it really shows in her work. plus, how cool is it that she is just one of several wedding vendors that heath ceramics endorses? bridal registrants can even pick up samples of her new line in either of their los angeles or sausalito stores. please visit lynn’s site and fall in love with her letterpress!

you may already know about my involvement with the flashdance. if not, go there, check it out and get downloaded on all the info. let me just say that being able to collaborate with the incredible whitney and jesse of our labor of love and michael antonia, the raddest dj ever, is an unbelievable honor. stay tuned for big things from all of us and make sure to check the flashdance regularly! that being said, i just put up a little post over there, with a few new pictures, so go and have a look… mw

daily candy’s spring 2009 wedding guide just came out. and i’m absolutely thrilled to be included. hooray! check it out here. mw

one of my favorite magazines in the world is monocle. if you don’t know it, go to your newsstand and get a copy. it’s everything a magazine should be. it is a constant source of inspiration and knowledge. monocle also has a store in london which i’ve always wanted to go to. but now i don’t have to because there’s one here in LA! (there are plans to open stores in nyc and tokyo, too). check out this little story about the opening (from notcot). i can’t wait to see it for myself. mw

if you’re in los angeles, make sure to stop by saturday night (april 11th) for the opening reception of this amazing paper art show. margaux has been working on this for the past year and has put in an incredible amount of time to make this thing happen. from bringing shin tanaka aboard, to putting together the website, to the contest, and now to the show… it’s been fun to see it all come together. oh, and google some of the names below. you’ll be amazed. mw

charlotte from photo pro magazine in the uk e-mailed a few months ago and asked if she could interview me for an upcoming issue. well, i just got the issue in the mail and couldn’t be more excited. just thought i would share… mw

“contrail is a tool for developing bicycle communities. as you ride, contrail leaves a faint chalk line behind your bike. the goal is to encourage a new cycle of biking participation by allowing the biking community to leave a unique mark on the road and to reclaim this crucial shared space.” pretty cool idea. but apparently not yet in production. mw
