almost 3 months ago, margaux and i welcomed our little boy into the world. just typing that sentence blows my mind. it still doesn’t feel real.

now, we couldn’t be happier to share a little peek into his brand new room, courtesy of our wonderful friend sharon, and her animal print shop nursery project. with the help of the ever-talented designer morgan satterfield, the nursery exceeded all of our expectations. you can see more photos and all the room sources over at sharon’s blog right here and see the sweet baby elephant print right here.

and big thanks to onefortythree, the minimalist and oeuf for supplying us with the goods. mw

working with conde nast traveler and martha stewart weddings is always a thrill. in the may issue of cnt, you’ll find photos i took for a story on new york’s waterfronts (as the writer justin davidson points out, NYC “is a maritime city again”). it’s not every day that you’ll find me on a schooner in the east river, but (minor) seasickness aside, it was a beautiful ride. further highlights – including visits to queens’s gantry plaza state park and the beach volleyball courts near the brooklyn bridge – are pictured below. for martha stewart, i had the honor of shooting amanda & tim’s beautiful san clemente wedding. the icing on the cake? working alongside longtime friends from bash, please, the flashdance and sharkpig. both magazines are on newsstands now – check them out if you have the chance! mw

margaux and i were lucky enough to spend almost the entire month of september last year shooting a campaign for the state of hawaii. we spent a lot of our time on maui and it was amazing getting to explore the whole island. among the many highlights: sunrise at kapalua, touring a lavendar farm in upcountry kula, watching little paniolo’s (hawaiian cowboys) in makawao and literally standing above the clouds at haleakala. below are a few tearsheets as well as a handful of other shots from our time on the islands. mw

a favorite from a recent shoot with my pal, bri. mw

when bri told me that emily henderson was redesigning her living room, i thought “how cool is that?” — and when she asked me if they could use one of my prints for her wall, i was obviously thrilled to be able to contribute. we all agreed that the tulum print, with it’s soft blues and greens would make the greatest impact and be a perfect fit. we ended up doing a custom 45×65 print and below is the finished product (photos of bri’s home by the wonderful laure joliet). you can see more of bri’s living room transformation on her blog as well as emily’s. and the la times also did an article on the whole process which you can look at here!  mw

between traveling, moving, shooting non-stop (oh, and a baby on the way!), i haven’t had much time to share new work as of late. but i wanted to at least post a handful of images from the past few months, with the intention of adding more very soon. thanks, as always, for visiting and having a look. mw

a little write-up on one of my favorite photos in the Independent UK! mw

traveling the world and taking pictures along the way is one of my favorite things to do. so it’s especially meaningful to have been recognized as a winner in PDN’s travel contest, alongside some other pretty incredible photographers and photographs. if you get a chance, pick up a copy, it’s on newsstands now. mw
