sarah & lou eloped in one of the most beautiful spots in los angeles. high above the city, on a pathway surrounded by trees, they shared in one of the most intimate moments we’ve ever had the opportunity of photographing (fun fact: my dad officiated). thank you to our dear friends for asking us to be a part of their very special day. more photos (and words) on sarah’s blog, 100 layer cake and green wedding shoes. and if you haven’t seen the amazing video that brian did for them yet, you have to check it out (see bottom of page). it’s magic. mw
i thought i’d provide a little update as we’ve been getting questions regarding our website and why our wedding gallery has disappeared. first off, we haven’t stopped shooting weddings. we’re just currently in the process of transitioning into a new site that will be dedicated solely to our wedding and portrait work. the site is coming soon and i’m excited to share our new brand and look with you. as far as maxwanger.com is concerned, from here on out, it will be a site that just houses my commercial and editorial work. in the meantime, if you’re wanting to see examples of our wedding work, i’ve set up a tumblr that has a rotating collection to peruse. if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch: hello@maxwanger.com! mw
emily & geoffrey got married in mill valley, against a backdrop of beautiful redwood trees. the entire day and night was intimate and sweet, filled with everything you could ask for: love, laughter and joy. and getting to work with our friends, paige & kelly, michael and brian was the icing on the cake. a handful of selects below. mw

this one is going to be tough to properly articulate. but i’ll do my best. jessica & aaron, who both work at facebook, took over the entire ace hotel in palm springs for 3 magical days of non-stop fun. they treated their guests to a bourbon & bow ties welcome party, an early morning “blessingmony” in joshua tree, a vibrant pool party with live music by the leftover cuties, a raucous dance party celebration, a non-traditional barat processional complete with a high school marching band, followed by an intimate evening with a new orleans brass band as entertainment and a street fair with food trucks galore. the details were endless: custom hotel key cards, beach towels, posters, feathers, arrows, gold unicorns and more. needless to say, it was a memorable weekend for all. with bash, please designing and coordinating, michael dj’ing, brian filming, smilebooth snapping away and yeah rentals providing the furniture, it was a true “flashbash” event. for a breakdown of the 3 days with many more details, check out the posts on 100 layer cake. and lastly, a shout out to c weddings for the feature! mw

freunde von freunden is an interview magazine that showcases people of diverse creative and cultural backgrounds in their homes or daily working environments. when i was in berlin a few months ago, i had the great pleasure of meeting with some of the freunde von freunden people and we talked about working on some features in los angeles. below is the first one that i photographed featuring the wonderful ai and cedric bihr in their lovely laurel canyon home. you can read their interview and view more pics on the freunde von freunden blog right here. mw
